Supplement Recalls and FDA Warnings, Fall 2026: Check Your Cabinet
By Candid Wellness Reviews Editorial · November 2, 2026
Between September 1 and November 1, 2026, FDA posted eight company recalls of products sold as supplements, including one lot of 365 Whole Foods Market ashwagandha capsules (possible Salmonella), RAPTURE Preworkout (DMAA) and several "male enhancement" products with hidden prescription drug ingredients. FDA also warned consumers not to buy or use several products, including joint and pain products found to contain diclofenac. Compare the name, lot number and dates on your bottles with each FDA notice, follow the notice's instructions, and report problems through FDA's Safety Reporting Portal or MedWatch.
This article summarizes public FDA notices for general information. It is not medical advice. If you think a product made you sick, contact your doctor.
Every few weeks, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) posts new recalls and warnings for products sold as dietary supplements. Below is a plain-English roundup of the supplement notices FDA posted from September 1 through November 1, 2026, followed by simple steps for checking your own cabinet. Every item links to the FDA page it came from, so you can read the full notice yourself.

A few details worth knowing:
- The ashwagandha recall covers one lot sold in Whole Foods Market stores nationwide and on Amazon.com from November 24, 2025, through October 20, 2026. The lot number and expiration date are printed on the bottom of the bottle. Questions: Vitality Works, (505) 268-9950, weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mountain Time.
- Ultimate Forza was sold at certain independently owned GNC franchise stores from 2017 to October 1, 2026. Questions: GNC Customer Service, 1-877-462-4700.
- Sildenafil and tadalafil are the active ingredients in the prescription drugs Viagra and Cialis. The notices say they may interact with nitrates, such as nitroglycerin, and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels.
What other supplement warnings did FDA post?
FDA also posts "health fraud" notices when its lab finds drug ingredients that are not on a product's label. These are not company recalls. FDA advises consumers not to buy or use the product. Several recent ones involve products sold for joint pain and arthritis.
| Date | Product | Reason | What the FDA notice says to do | Link |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Oct. 28, 2026 | RX7 Articulaciones (sold for joint and muscle pain) | Diclofenac and dexamethasone not listed on the label | Do not buy or use it. If you take it, talk to your health care professional about stopping safely. | FDA notice |
| Oct. 28, 2026 | Ort-Flx (sold for pain, arthritis and allergies) | Diclofenac, dexamethasone and methocarbamol not listed on the label | Do not buy or use it. If you take it, talk to your health care professional about stopping safely. | FDA notice |
| Oct. 27, 2026 | Demograss Premier (sold for weight loss) | Phenolphthalein not listed on the label | Do not buy or use it. | FDA notice |
| Oct. 23, 2026 | Ultra Bon (sold for arthritis, pain and osteoporosis) | Diclofenac, an NSAID pain reliever, not listed on the label | Do not buy or use it. | FDA notice |
| Oct. 23, 2026 (update) | Green Lumber Natural Fuel For Men | FDA says additional samples bought from greenlumber.com contain tadalafil not listed on the label | FDA "continues to advise consumers not to purchase or use" it. | FDA notice |
| Oct. 15, 2026 | 10 Day Forecast (sold for sexual enhancement) | Sildenafil and acetaminophen not listed on the label | Do not buy or use it. | FDA notice |
| Sept. 4, 2026 | ZUBB Dietary Supplement (sold for weight loss) | Sildenafil not listed on the label | Do not buy or use it. | FDA notice |
Two more notes. In August 2025, FDA posted a Green Lumber Holding consumer alert saying counterfeit products were being sold under its name. And in September 2026, FDA added seven more products to its sexual enhancement and energy product list: MAXMAN Coffee, DEEP, Beauty 911, LUZE Fit Intensity, Vital Honey, Candy Power For Man and Miracle Power of King Kong Honey. Open each notice on that page to see what FDA found.
How can I check if a supplement I own was recalled?
- Gather your bottles. Write down the brand, product name, lot number, UPC and expiration date for each one.
- Search FDA's recalls page. The Recalls, Market Withdrawals & Safety Alerts page has a search box and a "Product Type" filter. You can also sign up there for email alerts.
- Search the Health Fraud Product Database. FDA's Health Fraud Product Database lists products named in warning letters, recalls and public notifications.
- Match the details exactly. A recall usually covers specific lots. If the lot or date on your bottle is different, it may not be included. If you're unsure, call the phone number in the notice.
Keep in mind what FDA itself says about these lists. Not all recalls have press releases or are posted on the recalls page. The Health Fraud Product Database "only includes a small fraction of the potentially hazardous products" on the market. And FDA says it "is unable to test and identify all products" marketed as dietary supplements that may have hidden ingredients. A product that isn't on a list is not automatically safe.
If you take several supplements along with prescription medicines, it can be worth bringing your bottles to your pharmacist for a quick review.
How do I report a problem with a supplement?
- Safety Reporting Portal: FDA's dietary supplement reporting page says to stop using the product and file a report at safetyreporting.hhs.gov. You can report as a guest.
- MedWatch: FDA's MedWatch program takes reports online. The Global Mix recall notice above lists MedWatch's phone number, 1-800-FDA-1088.
- Your doctor first: If you feel unwell, call your doctor before anything else.
What red flags should I watch for on labels and ads?
FDA's consumer guide, "6 Tip-offs to Rip-offs," lists warning signs of health fraud:
- "One product does it all." Be wary of a product that claims to fix a long list of conditions.
- Personal "success" stories. FDA says testimonials are easy to make up and are not a substitute for scientific evidence.
- Quick fixes. FDA notes that few conditions can be resolved quickly, even with legitimate products.
- "All natural." FDA says these terms don't necessarily mean a product is safe.
- "Miracle" language. FDA says alarms should go off when you see it.
- Conspiracy claims. For example, a pitch saying the government or drug companies are hiding a product from you.
FDA also says to check with your doctor or another health care professional before trying an unproven product.
Does "FDA-registered facility" mean FDA approved?
No.
- FDA's "Is It Really 'FDA Approved'?" page states: "By statute, the FDA does not approve dietary supplements for safety and effectiveness."
- The same page says that registering an establishment with FDA "does not denote approval" of that establishment.
- According to FDA's dietary supplements page, companies are responsible for checking the safety and labeling of their products before they sell them. FDA can act against adulterated or misbranded supplements once they are on the market.
So "made in an FDA-registered facility" tells you where a product was made. It doesn't mean FDA reviewed or approved the product. If a label or ad says a supplement is "FDA approved," that is a reason to look more closely.
The bottom line
Recalls cover specific products and lots, so it takes only a few minutes to compare your bottles with FDA's lists, especially if you buy joint, weight-loss or "male enhancement" products online. When something doesn't match or doesn't feel right, stop using it, call your doctor or pharmacist, and report it to FDA.

Which Whole Foods ashwagandha was recalled?
The company recalled 365 Whole Foods Market Standardized + Full Spectrum Blend Ashwagandha Capsules, 120 count, lot 2025-26227, expiration 10/13/2028 (printed on the bottom of the bottle). It was sold in Whole Foods Market stores nationwide and on Amazon.com from November 24, 2025, through October 20, 2026. The notice says not to consume it, to discard it rather than return it, and that refunds are available at any Whole Foods Market store. It also says no illnesses had been reported.
How do I check if a supplement I own was recalled?
Search FDA's Recalls, Market Withdrawals and Safety Alerts page (you can filter by product type) and FDA's Health Fraud Product Database. Then compare the exact product name, lot number, UPC and expiration date on your bottle with the notice. FDA notes that not all recalls have press releases or are posted on that page, so if you are unsure, call the company phone number listed in the notice.
How do I report a bad reaction to a supplement?
FDA's dietary supplement page says to stop using the product and file a report through the Safety Reporting Portal at safetyreporting.hhs.gov. You can also use FDA's MedWatch program online or call 1-800-FDA-1088. If you feel unwell, contact your doctor first.
Does "FDA-registered facility" mean a supplement is FDA approved?
No. FDA says that by statute it does not approve dietary supplements for safety and effectiveness. Registering a facility with FDA does not mean FDA has approved that facility or the products made there.
What should I do if I'm taking one of the pain products FDA warned about?
FDA advises consumers not to buy or use Ultra Bon, RX7 Articulaciones or Ort-Flx. For RX7 Articulaciones and Ort-Flx, FDA also says people who are taking them should talk to their health care professional about how to stop safely. If you have questions or feel unwell, call your doctor.
